I'd Like You To Meet...Jack ❤

Jack had lived in Labrador the first ten years of his life, a sled dog living his days sledding thousands of miles throughout the Labrador landscape he now seeks a loving retirement home in Nova Scotia.

On June 8th-2013 Jack was fortunate to catch a VIPup flight to Nova Scotia via The FedEx Northern Dog Rescue from Goose Bay, Labrador.

The Labrador Husky is an Indiginous breed of Husky & near extiction in Canada with numbers as low as 60, they are a rare breed cherished by the Innu First Nations people of Labrador, Canada.

Within this Link you can reference a detailed description of this breed: http://www.freewebs.com/mysticpathshuskys/labradorhuskys.htm

Bringing Jack to Nova Scotia to find a loving retirement home is the least I could do for such a majestic dog. He is truly stunning, all who meet him are in awe of his spirit. He is loving, gentle, affectionate but most of all he is patient.

Having the privilege of getting to spend as much time as I do with him, he never ceases to keep me engaged. He absolutely loves to be loved, if you stop petting him he will lift his leg, turn his body and gently place his paw on your lap to let you know he's not ready for you to stop loving him.

Jack enjoys walks and responds better to HAAA to commence walking, QIMMIQ to stop, he loves to weave back and forth in front of you to keep you on your toes, it's actually quite a fun, entertaining walk.

He does not eat kibble, he grew up eating frozen venison & beef meat (bones & all) and enjoys cooked hamburger. Jack doesn't know what a treat is, he will take it from you but drop it on the floor unchewed and walk away. He does like braided deer tendons from PetValu as his chew, I've tried everything else to no avail.

In perfect health given that he is ten years of age, his eyes are a little cloudy, his teeth are worn but not damaged and he is 84lbs of solid Labrador Husky.

Jack loves older kids as they typically like to pet him and give him lots of attention. He gets along famously with female dogs, he doesn't bother too much with cats and is co-existing with a male shih-tzu without incident. This gorgeous boy deserves a loving home, he's worked hard his entire life and now needs to rest and enjoy the years he has left.

Jack is not neutered and as he is ten years of age it's not recommended as putting him under anasthetic could cause him great distress. He will let you know when he'd like to go outside by bowing his head on the door, it is subtle but it works for him. He will wait for you to open the door & he calmly heads outside on lead to do what he needs to do. He does not bark, he doesn't howl & will occasionally growl in his sleep.

A home with older children, a female companion and a fenced yard would be ideal for Jack. He deserves a home where he will be showered with affection, where lazy days and Family are the main focus and his needs can be of the utmost importance.

Jack is more than a Husky, he is an amazing boy and he deserves to have a Forever Family. If you would like to meet Jack he is being fostered in Sackville (NS) thankfully by my mom and dad who are spoiling him.

Age should not define Jack as he is so much more than the years he has lived, he is worth a life you can offer him. I hope you see what I do in him and come forward to give him the best retirement he deserves.

Thank You
Love Jack & me (LA Bowden) 💜
